Description:
This bit is made of solid Cuprigan with stainless steel rings. Cuprigan is an alloy consisting of 89% copper, 7% aluminum, 3% iron and 1% zinc. The oxidation process of the material gives a pleasant smell and taste. The anatomical design follows the shape of the horse's mouth, creating a gentle and even pressure distribution. The design, combined with the unique properties of Cuprigan, encourages the chewing process and saliva production, which allows for a pleasant connection with the sensitive horse’s mouth. The upper shanks (purchase arms) with ring are turned slightly outwards, which allows for optimum freedom of the horse’s head. The bit applies sharp pressure on the mouth.

A Pelham bit offers four different rein positions: a single rein attached to either the middle or bottom ring, a double rein or a single rein in combination with Pelham roundings. A Pelham bit is often used for strong horses or in situations that require more control such as show jumping or eventing. The longer the shanks, the stronger the leverage. The mouthpiece of a single broken snaffle hinges at one point. It works mainly on the bars but also exerts pressure on the edges of the tongue, the corners of the mouth and sometimes on the palate. When rein aids are given, the bit forms a V-shape. The tongue has more freedom than it would have with a double-jointed bit.
