This cheekpiece has a D-shape. The D-rings ensure that the mouthpiece lies quietly and stable in the mouth. The pressure of the D against the sidewall makes steering easier, because the head is automatically drawn in the right direction. This makes the bit suitable for young horses, for example. Due to the shape of this cheekpiece, it is less easy to pull the bit through the mouth.
